Luc MOREAU
Since the 1990s Luc Moreau is specialized (Ph.D. thesis 1995) in the study of subglacial hydrology related to the sliding of glacier. Throughout the year, and for the Emosson SA hydroelectricity company, he visits, observes, measures these variables using specially created instruments (cavitometer), or "time lapse" cameras to try to detect the slightest indices that can anticipate a variation of the water stream torrent captured for hydroelectric production. Independent Glaciologist associated with the Edytem CNRS laboratory (University of Savoie), he also works in Greenland on the acceleration of outlet glaciers since ten years (partnership with the ETH Zurich), and explores with his speleologist friends many « moulins » which allow the melt water to reach the base of the glaciers. The Luc research is in the heart of the SAUSSURE project!
