Juan Pedro Roldán-Blasco is the PhD student hired on the SAUSSURE project at IGE. He is interested in glacier modelling at the meso scale. He is working on WP2, on the inclusion of solid friction and hydrology in the current glacier friction laws, with the objective of updating and extending the currently used models. With a background on civil engineering and computational mechanics, he finds the SAUSSURE project to be the perfect mix of theory, field work and modelling.
