Ugo Nanni did a bachelor of Geosciences focused on structural geology and geodynamic processes (2014). He first integrated IGE during his master to work on the coupling between the subglacial hydrology and ice dynamic, with Olivier Gagliardini and Fabien Gillet-Chaulet. He then joined in October 2017 Christian Vincent and Florent Gimbert to do his PhD with the objective to bring new constraints on the physics of glacier sliding and its modulation by subglacial hydrology using seismic observations and dedicated modelling. He is now working on the seasonal evolution of the seismic signal recorded on the Argentière Glacier with the scope to retrieve subglacial hydraulic properties. In the SAUSSURE project, he will investigate the spatial evolution of the subglacial hydrology from the glacier tongue to the equilibrium line altitude. He will supervise with F. Gimbert and A. Helmstetter the installation of permanent and temporary seismometers on the Argentière Glacier.
